Tyresta Park Quest Tour

What is the quest-tour in Tyresta?

Tyresta national park

Tyresta National Park is one of Sweden’s 30 natural reserves just in about 20 km (12 miles) away from Stockholm’s city center. It is a protected natural area of around 50 square km with primeval forests nearly unaffected by human activities. During the quest-tour around the Tyresta National park you will have to find your way through the wild forests and swamps with the help of the specially deisgned maps. You will explore many treasures of the Nordic nature while solving challenges and tasks to finish the route. You will enjoy the views of the beautiful lakes during the breaks, get familiar with the habitat of some wild birds and animals and learn about life in the ancient villages that had been inhabited on the territory of the Tyresta woods for thousand years and until very recently. During the quest-tour you will be accompanied by a tour guide who will make sure you make it through the route, get you familiar with flora and fauna of the wild Swedish forest. Your guide will adjust the itinerary and the challenges depending on the weather, the season, and on whether you have children or people with special needs in your group. You can also discuss the level of intensity of the quest with our manager in advance to make your visit to Tyresta National Park the most enjoyable experience

How long does it last?

Ancient Village at Tyresta

The Tyresta Quest Tour lasts between 3-4 hours depending on the weather and includes two breaks for lunch and snacks – one in the Tyresta village dining area and another in the place of your choice, usually at the bank of one of the Park’s eight lakes. You can bring your lunch box from the ship or let us know and we will prepare snacks for what we call “fika” in Sweden.

Where do we meet?

Ancient Village at Tyresta

Tyresta National Park is located about 12 miles (20 km from Stockholm City center). You can arrive to Tyresta by car (there is a large parking free of charge), by taxi or by public transportation, which takes about one hour by local train and bus from the Stockholm’s Central Train Station. Your guide will meet you at the bus stop by the main entrance to the Park (you will get detailed information on how to get to Tyresta from us).

How many people can participate in a quest tour? Can children participate? Is this quest accessible for wheelchair persons?

Quest in Tyresta

There is no special limit on the number of people. If you party is bigger than 6 people, we will break it into competing teams to make the quest even more fun! Children of all ages and wheelchair quests are welcome. Please, let us know how many you are in your company and whether you have any special needs for your party and we will adjust the route and quest tasks for you!

Can we stay at Tyresta after the quest-tour is over?

Tyresta Lake

If you are coming on a cruise and leaving Stockholm same day, you will most likely have to leave Tyresta after the end of the quest-tour. You can be sure that you will explore the most magnificent sites of the park and the village. If you are not in a hurry for your boat, then you can stay in Tyresta even overnight – ask your manager more about camping options in the Park – that can be a great idea!
